Description

We are looking for a keen and motivated individual to assist with duties associated with our fabrication workshop and yard based in Sittingbourne.

The role will include driving our vehicles, so a clean UK driving license is essential.

Duties:

Cutting of steel sections and associated materials for the fabricators.
Preparation of steel components in advance of assembly and welding by the fabricators.
To carry out general workshop duties including assisting the foreman, fabricators and site teams.
Loading and offloading lorries.
Deliveries and collections of materials/products to coaters and/or clients as required.
Fettling and grinding of galvanised products.
Stores inventory management.
General yard duties including cleaning as required.

Requirements:

Experience of working in a similar role within a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
Previous use of hand tools and metalworking machinery including bandsaw, guillotine, pillar drill etc... would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be given.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
C/B forklift license or at least previous forklift experience.
Good communication skills and the ability to read written instructions.
Ability to work alone or within a team environment.
Experience in operating counterbalance forklifts.
Excellent timekeeping.
Clean and tidy work ethic.
Great attitude to work and be proactive in their duties.
Excellent attitude to all aspects of Health & Safety

Due to insurance restrictions, this role is only open to persons aged 25 and over.
