MONDAY TO THURSDAY 8AM TO 4.30PM, FRIDAYS 8AM TO 2PM = 38 HOURS PER WEEK

BASED AT CANNOCK WOOD INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

Must have 3 Years Machine shop experience, NVQ level 2-3 and manual lathe machining experience

Job Brief


Our Torque Converter Machinist role will be centred around torque converter re-manufacture, also working on the Large Torque Converter production when required.

Supporting other UK sites and the global business with re-manufactured product.


Training and product knowledge provided, a mechanical mindset and experience using manual equipment such as lathes, drillers, grinding, and welding equipment are essential.


Key Accountabilities

  • To be able to use engineering equipment to manufacture any component required by department
  • To follow production procedures and work instructions where possible
  • To be able to access and remanufacture any component required by department
  • To complete this in adequate time and required quality standards.
  • Use of engineering equipment
  • Use of various engineering materials: Mild steel to EN19, Aluminium, Phosphor Bronze
  • To train others if required
  • To be able to work as part of a team
  • To support other areas in the department when needed
  • Completion of relevant paper work and daily check sheets
  • To keep work area clean and tidy
  • Observe all statutory and company safety regulations as detailed in the company health and safety manual and on notice boards.
  • Adhere to company waste streams and policies

Requirements, experience, and education

  • 3 Years Machine shop experience, NVQ level 2 Manual lathe machining experience
  • Manual and automated welding experience
  • Basic drilling machine experience
  • Basic surface grinding experience
  • General use of grinding equipment
  • Use of engineering drawings
  • Use of measuring equipment; Digital Vernier, Micrometres, Gap, Hight and Plug gauges
  • Manufacture of components to specific tolerances
  • To plan step by step approach to complete component manufacture
