Main Areas of Responsibility

As MFL HLTA, your responsibilities include:

  • To lead and deliver Chinese (Mandarin), French or Spanish lessons across all year goups.
  • To be an exemplary teacher, clearly demonstrating effective planning, teaching and organisation, and high standards of achievement and behaviour in Chinese (Mandarin), French or Spanish lessons.
  • Set appropriate, realistic yet demanding expectations for students' learning, building on prior attainment/knowledge.
  • Identify students who may require learning support and know where to enlist help if and when required.
  • Planning that shows clear understanding of the year group expectations and lead to progression within lessons and over sequences of lessons.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualifications to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
  • Knowledge of the relevant aspects of the UK National Curriculum
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage children and enable them to perform highly
