To work as part of the pharmacy Aseptic Services team facilitating the comprehensive and efficient preparation, supply and delivery of aseptically manufactured products.

To assist with the maintenance and delivery of the Quality Assurance system within the manufacturing unit.

To organise and supervise clean room activities including staff and workflow.

Plan, organise and prioritise work activities within clean rooms alongside the Pharmacy Technicians. To assist with the co-ordination of daily workload, managing breaks and highlighting issues to a Senior Pharmacy Technician.


Responsible for the safe use of equipment within clean rooms, ensuring clean room staff use equipment in accordance with instructions and SOPs.


To carry out aseptic preparation including parenteral nutrition, CIVA, cytotoxic drugs, gene therapy and monoclonal antibodies from point of prescription receipt.

To be aware and follow all departmental operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidance at all times. Carry out environmental monitoring with appropriate media.

To communicate effectively with healthcare professionals both within and outside the Trust. To ensure good team working with other pharmacy staff, ward staff and other service providers as necessary.

To train junior members of staff in core areas as deemed appropriate by the Senior Technical Team.

To be aware of and participate, where required, in departmental audits.

To be a professional role model for Assistant Technical Officers/Senior Assistant Technical Officer.
