Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Co-Ordinator to join our team.
You will be responsible for planning, and organising engaging activities for our residents, that are person centred. Your role will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents.
Fundraising experience will be advantageous, as the activity funds are raised in house.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Coordinate and schedule activities, ensuring they are wellplanned and executed smoothly
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a stimulating and enjoyable environment for residents
- Conduct assessments to identify individual resident interests and preferences, and gain consent to go onto Ash Halls facebook page, by resident or their significant others.
- Provide individualised support and assistance to residents during activities
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members to ensure everyone is informed about upcoming events and activities, both by internal advertising and on Social media
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in dementia care, senior care, and assisted living
- Contact local companies and engage with the wider community for the purposes of fund raising.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge and experience in dementia care, and older persons.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Compassionate and patient approach
- Ability to plan, organise, and execute engaging activities that cater to different interests and abilities
- Creativity in developing new ideas for activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and physical wellbeing
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise responsibilities
Hours are 10am-4pm x 5 days per week, alternate weekends.
