Multi-Skilled Facilities Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical)

Desford - 1 day WFH, 4 days in the office

Initial 12 month contract - likely to extend for the right person

Up to £22.00 an hour PAYE / Umbrella rate available
Do you have experience in seeing through facility amendment projects from start to finish? Can you provide guidance on mechanical/electrical facility needs for infrastructure & equipment? Have you supervised contractors carrying out work at a facility? Ifyes, this could be the opportunity for you


Based at a world leading manufacturer of Off Highway Machinery, we're looking for a Facilities Engineer to manage teams to deliver facility goals and projects.

This will include reviewing and making recommendations on new and current equipment, procedures,and training requirements.


What would you do?

  • Support facility on new & current mechanical/electrical needs for infrastructure/equipment
  • Lead energy and CO2 reduction investigations and projects
  • Lead and manage projects for facility improvements and new equipment installation
  • Prepare documentation for compliance of site systems to a planned maintenance program
  • Investigate maintenancerelated issues and recommend solutions
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to prevent downtime
  • Liaise and manage third party contractors to ensure compliance
  • Assist in the design and recommendations of building changes
  • Verify equipment/systems effectiveness + recommend revision/purchase of new equipment

What are we looking for?

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading projects and managing contractors and/or suppliers
  • Demonstrable experience in equipment specification, diagnostics, systems integration and maintenance coordination
  • Excellent communication skills (you'll be liaising with employees, customers & suppliers)
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Experience with sustainability and energy saving projects is desirable
