Oats are growing in popularity as they are a nutritious and versatile food ingredient widely used in cereals, bakery and biscuit production as well as in the beverages and cosmetics sectors.

This fantastic opportunity is pivotal to the development of this newly established company, providing an opportunity of being part of the company commissioning team and then moving forward into a shift pattern.

Role Overview:

The Production Operative role is responsible for the efficient production of high quality products through various parts of the milling and production areas.

The role covers stabilising oat groats throughout the whole oat milling process as well as being part of the production of finished mill products (flaking and flour) - all of which would meet with our customer defined requirements.

• Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, ideally milling/grain milling experience working with modern machinery and equipment in a safe and highquality manner

• Able to demonstrate clear understanding and interpretation of the daily production plan and achieve company/shift KPI's/expectations

Key Responsibilities:

• OPERATIONS working with the Shift Manager/Head Miller to ensure the production of highquality products in a safe manner.
• Responsible for the whole oat milling process conducting the appropriate quality checks
• Responsible for the flaking and flour process conducting the appropriate quality checks
• Reporting any issues, and responding accordingly
• Assisting as required with the production and processing of byproduct

Participate in company stock take activities as required to achieve company standards and targets.

Carry out quality and testing checks when required, to ensure product meets required specification.

• HEALTH & SAFETY accountable for ensuring they work in a safe working manner in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures. Responsible for the reporting of any faults, machine breakdowns, hazards, accidents or near misses. Adhere to all company PPE requirements.
• TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT attend all required training and development that is required to carry out their operations role. Become multiskilled across all milling and production areas.
• CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT work proactively in an environment where continuous improvement is part of our everyday operation making ideas and suggestions on improvement to the Shift Manger/Head Miller.

What is expected of me?_

This role will initially be part of the company commissioning team, working alongside team colleagues, equipment manufacturers and suppliers on an intense training programme.

You must have the ability to be flexible and adaptable during this time which will eventually move onto a day shift pattern after the commissioning activities have been completed.

(6am-2pm and/or 2pm-10pm). The working week will be 40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts daily Monday-Friday.
