Description
We're looking for a Production Editor/ Copywriter to join our team in London as part of our Content function.

Your Role:

You will ensure that the content produced across the LIONS business meets a high editorial standard - is clear, concise, inclusive, accessible, grammatically sound and adheres to the LIONS tone of voice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the editorial tone of voice document for the LIONS brand
  • Sub, copyedit and commission content across the portfolio
  • Write original content for written or oral communication
  • Identifying good imagery/data visualisation to accompany content resizing/cropping imagery as appropriate in the software
  • Uploading content in the CMS
  • Implement production processes within marketing, content and design to ensure the smooth running of an editorial schedule and timely delivery of clear content to the market
  • Liaise with the marketing and content team planning heads in order to maintain the editorial schedule and meet key externally facing deadlines
  • Coach, train and mentor the content team in writing effectively, clearly, inclusively and concisely
Your Experience

  • Have some experience as a senior subeditor, chief sub or production editor, running a busy subbing desk, ideally in an advertising, marketing or a related field
  • Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills, with a focus on accuracy, detail and consistency with an attention to detail
  • An aptitude for organisation, collaboration and working to tight deadline
  • Team player, able to work across departments
  • You are adept at writing and originating your own copy as well as editing that of others
  • You have a passion for communication, writing clear content and demystifying jargon into plain English
  • You are an advocate and ally for diversity, equity and inclusion
  • You enjoy teaching, coaching and mentoring teams to improve their confidence and competence in writing clearly
  • You are organised, thorough, skilled at implementing and delivering processes to run operations across a broad matrixstyle organisation, liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • You are a good team motivator, who can manage multiple projects with several teams
  • You will have knowledge and experience of using desktop publishing software and content management systems for the web
