37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and
occasional weekends

We're seeking a Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Wellington Road offers 11 en-suite rooms in a shared house, as well as two self-contained one-bedroom flats.

We provide support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

Providing a high quality, hands-on, personalised support service
Supporting our customers to live as independently as possible
Ensuring that customers are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
Accompanying customers on outings such as swimming and shopping
Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

Skills and experiences:

You will have previous experience in a similar care and support role, ideally working with vulnerable people
You will be empathetic and nonjudgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
A positive, 'cando' attitude
Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
