37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and
occasional weekends

We're seeking a Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Wellington Road offers 11 en-suite rooms in a shared house, as well as two self-contained one-bedroom flats.

We provide support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality, hands-on, personalised support service
  • Supporting our customers to live as independently as possible
  • Ensuring that customers are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Accompanying customers on outings such as swimming and shopping
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
  • Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

Skills and experiences:


  • You will have previous experience in a similar care and support role, ideally working with vulnerable people
  • You will be empathetic and nonjudgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • A positive, 'cando' attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
