The shift pattern is rotational.

Please note that for this post, no newly qualified practitioner for 2024 will be considered for this role.

Band 5 Staff Nurse position within Older People Service and Stroke, North Sector. Ward 31 is Acute Stroke and Older People.

You will work within the nursing team of the stroke multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to both Acute Stroke patients and Older People.

You will competently perform the necessary technical /invasive / physical aspects of care for this defined patient group.


You will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards.


You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of care, which are evidence based.

Utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others.

You will empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practicing in an open, transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care.

It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC with post registration experience.
