Age UK's Network Resilience Team is expanding. We are looking for two proactive and committed
Programme Support Officers on
18-month fixed term contracts.

You will be helping us to improve opportunities for our national network of independent partner charities, so they can continue to provide excellent services, activitiesand support for older people in their local communities.

Each Programme Support Officer position is a blend of administrative organisation, strategic programme development, relationship management and communication skills. If you are seeking a dynamic and varied role, these opportunities could be ideal.

This is a hybrid role, a blend of home based and office working. Our office for this role is in London.

Must haves:


  • Project support skills including:
  • Understanding of how to access, read and schedule in other people's calendars using Outlook.
  • Organising online meetings and events for large numbers of attendees using Teams (including event and breakout room functions).
  • Taking notes and actions for meetings
  • Ability to complete tasks end to end and use initiative to go the extra step.
  • Ability to prioritise competing deadlines and workloads, while maintaining an overview on the key priorities and accountabilities.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with principles of project management techniques, and tools.
  • Confidence dealing with people from different levels and backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage individual projects to meet organisational objectives and achieve deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills with a good understanding of Microsoft apps and the way they interact with each other.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to report on progress in writing and verbally.
  • Proven ability to work flexibly as part of a team and autonomously when required.

Great to haves:


  • Experience of working in Charity/Nonprofit sector.
  • Keen understanding of issues facing older people.
  • Experience of using data and insight tools, such as Power BI.
  • Experience of charity governance compliance and relevant regulations.
  • Experience of working with research agencies on insight projects.
