Are you a proactive, efficient and influential individual who is passionate about making a difference to disadvantaged people? If so, St Giles Trust has a career-enhancing opportunity for a Trainer Assessor to work on an exciting new partnership project.

About St Giles Trust and the Gwent BOOST Project

A well-established charity that helps ex-offenders and disadvantaged people to move their lives forward, St. Giles Trust offers support to help people overcome any issues that might be holding them back and move forward with their lives in a positive way.

The Gwent Helping End Homelessness Project (BOOST Building On Our Strengths Together) is a five year project supported by the National Lottery Community fund. St Giles and a wider consortium of Third sector and other well-established organisations will develop the value of lived experience for the benefit of those with lived experience - through a programme of peer mentoring, trauma informed care, training and co-production to strengthen opportunities for employment and make homelessness rare, Brief, and non-recurrent.

About this vital role

Through our hub based in Newport we will train women with lived-experience, who have faced disadvantage, to become professional advice, guidance and support workers, undertaking assured and accredited advice and guidance training, work placements whilst also receiving professional employment coaching and support.

To secure this exciting opportunity, you must have:

- A proven track record of providing high quality training to diverse groups of learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of assessing vocational qualifications.
- An understanding of the barriers faced by individuals with complex needs and who have faced disadvantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities, plus impressive attention to detail
- Sympathy with the aims and ethos of St Giles Trust as an organisation
