Great Bear is a leading 3rd party logistics business providing a wide range of ambient warehousing services, shared-user and dedicated transport solutions to a wide variety of customers alongside offering a flexible mix of added-value services to simplify supply chain.
Our Wolverhampton site are now recruiting for a Transport Planner on a full time basis.
Salary:
£28,500.00 Per annum
Working hours: 5 out of 7 rotating basis
Job Description:
The purpose of a
you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day planning of the transport operation, through the efficient planning of the transport operation.
- Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Utilising route planning software to create efficient delivery routes to both customer and factory locations.
- Working with our transport and administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for financial reporting and customer reports.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
Qualifications:
- The ability to work confidently within a team
- CPC holder preferable
- Knowledge of transport planning in a radial & direct delivery environment
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy shared user environment.
- Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills
- National network experience
- Experience of planning within a cost/KPI driven operational environment
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working to meet business requirements
- Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
