Job Title:
Children's Home Cook


Contracted Hours:
Part time


Shift pattern:20 hours per week

Monday - Friday 2pm - 6pm

One Sunday a month required.


Salary:
£22,000 (pro rata)

Forge Care's flagship new service, The Forge, is a brand-new, purpose designed Therapeutic Community for children, that is dedicated to facilitating recovery from early traumatic life experiences, disrupted attachment and to reducing the impact of adversity, so that children can make sense of their pasts.


We are looking for someone with a positive, joyful and warm personality to work in one of our children's home, sharing your love and passion for food.


You will be working in brand new kitchen environment, assisting with stock control, order management, food hygiene, assessments of risk, cleaning, serving.

This will also include planning, supporting menus creation or delivering learning sessions, religious celebrations and calendar events for and with children.


Role information

  • Prepare, cook and present amazing food
  • Taking pride in maintaining highest standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Offer nutritionally balanced and wellplanned varied food choices, considering cultural needs, personal food choices, allergies, and preferences
  • Baking birthday cakes for children.
  • Preparing buffets, provisions for training or meeting spaces as may be required.
  • Order and manage stock, reducing waste.
  • Lead small cooking experiences and learning spaces for children (aged
  • Cleaning and keeping our kitchens and café spaces well presented.
  • Manage stock, stock ordering, rotation and budgets set around service delivery.
