Early Years Worker

Overview:
Cascade Camps is a family run company that is friendly and lively. We run activity, adventure and sport experiences for children and young people. Our full-time and seasonal staff teams are full of energetic, motivated people who are passionate about what they do.

The ideal person for this role with us will be experienced, confident, outgoing, good-natured, engaging, energetic and highly organised. They should have high levels of customer care as well as safety awareness.

They will have excellent communication skills, be attentive to detail, and take safety and fun seriously as well as have an understanding of EYFS.


Job purpose:

The role of the Early Years worker is to oversee the delivery of activities in the Cascade Cubs (3-4 year olds) programme whilst ensuring the welfare and safety of the children is always maintained.

You will be required to create an exciting, fun and caring environment and deliver outstanding, safe, structured activities, such as:

sports, arts and crafts, and free play activities for the Early Years children enrolled on camp - our Cascade CUBS.

The activities offered will follow EYFS requirements for learning and development, with the emphasis being on participation and quality.

With support and direction from the Early Years Manager and Camp Director, you will lead the children in activities throughout the day.


Key responsibilities for the Early Years worker will include the following:

  • Oversee the delivery of fun and engaging activities for the Cascade CUBS on camp, ensuring all EYFS requirements are met.
  • Prepare and deliver outstanding sport, art and free play activities for children aged 34, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
  • Attend a Camp Induction Day and Set-Up Day.
  • Work with a team of Early Years Instructors ensuring a welcoming, caring and safe environment.
  • Ensure all Cascade Camps policies and procedures are adhered to by yourself and the children in your care, including all health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Continuously promote the welfare of the children in your care.
  • Assist the Early Years manager with registration/sign out as needed.
  • Supervision of children at all times.
  • Other adhoc duties (e.g. cleaning, equipment, etc.)
  • At all times behave in a manner that reflects the expectations of Cascade Camps.
  • Show the required energy, enthusiasm and professionalism for the duration of the camp season, acting as an ambassador for Cascade Camps and behaving as a suitable role model for children.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential Attributes

  • Educated to a minimum Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or teaching, with experience working with 34 year olds.
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • EYFS experience in a nursery, childcare, camp or other setting.
  • Experience in delivering sport, art and free play activities to children.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Responsible, caring and organised and consistently exhibit an enthusiastic approach to the role.
  • Confident in leading a group of children.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS (we can assist you in obtaining this if required).
  • Have a great manner with children and young people.
  • Have a great attitude and willingness to help where needed.
  • Excellent timekeeping, reliability and trustworthiness.

Desirable Attributes:


  • Have a Paediatric First Aid certificate or willing to obtain one through Cascade Camps.

Salary:


£350 - £450 per week, age, experience and qualification dependent.


Work hours:

08:4- 16:45 hours (Monday to Friday).
