As an Accounts Assistant, you will be working in a close-knit team as part of the Accounts Receivable function, tasked mainly with resolving outstanding accounts.

The role may also become varied - you may need to utilise your skills and experience to fulfil several functions, such as some general accounting and administration duties.


Key Duties

  • Contact overdue customers to obtain payments, payment commitments, or query details
  • Make outbound and take inbound customer calls
  • Collaborate with other departments and organisations on debt collection matters
  • Negotiate and monitor customer payment plans
  • Tracing defaulters by searching publicly available records and industry data
  • Assist preparing accounts for escalation
  • General office procedures, processes and administrative duties, as required.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent communication and negotiation with debtors, both written and verbal
  • Experience in developing, enacting and monitoring debt recovery plans and strategies to prevent losses
  • Assertive yet professional, showing empathy whilst remaining calm under pressure
  • Maintain a positive attitude, with a drive to hit targets, working with mínimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional recordkeeping

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in recoveries, sales, customer service, or telemarketing
  • Debt collection certification or training
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Capable IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word & Outlook).

£22,255.00 per year
