Job Description Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an NPI / Special Process Owner People Leader, based at our Caledonian site at Prestwick.

Reporting to the Gate 2 Business Unit Leader, this is a critical role aligned to the strategic direction of the Caledonian site, as well as the Engine Overhaul and Repair value streams delivery performance strategy.


The scope for the role includes Business Case Creation, Project Management, and Project Execution for the introduction of new components, and industrialisation of new repairs.

Partnering with the Operations, Engineering and Lean teams to optimising all processes for the introduction of the new components and repairs, while meeting all repair manual and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Gate 2 Business Unit Leader to identify suitable Component Repair and Accessory Industrialisation projects that meet the strategic needs of the business and to justify the business case through data driven evaluation
  • Lead SPO Engineers to evaluate RD requirements and to manage through to completion individual and multiple projects on time, per budget and in adherence to GE Aviation MOC requirements
  • Integrate into the P&E and IRB approval process
  • Ensuring that Repair NPI Industrialisation meets documented requirements
  • Evaluate costing for new NPI repair's through working closely with the costing team, so that real cost can be included in the electronic Component Repair Directory (eCRD)
  • Optimise Machining process IAW QAP and SPM, including planned maintenance, machine calibration and internal audits, ensuring that tools / equipment and processes are adequate for intended purpose
  • Build proactive working relationships through liaison between Shop operations teams, Engineering and Quality management

Qualification / Requirements:


  • Prior people leadership experience, with the ability to lead and motivate others within a team environment
  • Continuous Improvement mindset with a focus on Lean Methodologies
  • Demonstrate ability as a change agent and of influencing skills
  • Knowledge of process operations in a fast paced production environment
  • The ability to interpret technical information
