The role.


Our Team Leaders lead and motivate our clinical administration teams in supporting our clinical colleagues and key stakeholders to deliver the very best care for our patients.

You'll be....

You will support the Hub manager with their work whilst supporting & motivating your team.


You will oversee outpatient clinics, inpatient waiting lists and patient correspondence adhering to performance targets and identifying continuous service improvements.


You'll be required to analyse performance data ensuring high standards of operational integrity, using the data to coach and develop your team.


As an advocate for the clinical administration service, you will be a visible role model promoting the work and achievements of our teams.

You will work closely with your Hub Manager and ensure all staff holidays and development is up to date.

We are recruiting for a Team Leader for our Ophthalmology Team (Hub 10) at the Eye Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary
If you are someone who;

  • Can motivate and inspire teams to do the right things for our patients every day
  • Is passionate about what you do and takes pride in delivering the very best work
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident telephone manner
  • Has a good understanding of and strong interest in the NHS
  • Has experience of working effectively with mínimal supervision
  • Thrives on a challenge
  • Remains calm under pressure, can manage a number of tasks simultaneously and maintain excellent attention to detail while working to strict deadlines
  • Is an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with a range of people, including senior key stakeholders and colleagues
  • Has great writing and administrative skills, with competency in using Microsoft Office
  • Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Uses their initiative and can think on their feet

With a starting salary of £25,147per annum with a generous NHS pension scheme and a fantastic annual leave package (27 days annual leave plus bank holidays) and offer excellent opportunities to progress within clinical administration.

HUTH has two main sites:
Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million.

The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area.


The Trust's secondary care service portfolio is comprehensive, covering the major medical and surgical specialties, routine and specialist diagnostic services and other clinical support services.

These services are provided primarily to a catchment population of approximately 600,000 in the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire area.


HUTH provides specialist and tertiary services to a population of 1.25 million extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively.
