The Leicestershire Warm Homes service sits as part of the Public Health Department Community Delivery arm and is pleased to be recruiting for the position of Warm Homes Support Officer.

You will join a small team providing information, advice, and guidance, delivering projects to enable and maintain warm and healthy homes.

You will support the raising of awareness of fuel poverty indicators, the service offer and encourage warm home initiatives to support people to maintain their well-being, live independently, comfortably and safely in their homes and reduce incidence of fuel poverty and excess winter deaths linked to cold homes.

The key aims are to respond to referrals for advice received directly from residents or professionals on their behalf and will be split across 2 main workstreams designed to be flexible based on seasonal demand:

  • Provide an intermediate level of general energy efficiency information and advice giving by telephone including referring to and administering current projects.
  • Deliver promotional and briefing activity to internal teams, external organisations and public facing events about the Warm Homes service offer, fuel poverty and how to access the service.
Currently the role is likely to involve a hybrid model of home and office-based working.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • NVQ2 in Business Administration, equivalent qualification OR relevant demonstrable experience in a customer facing environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to adapt to deal with a wide range of customers
