Reed Engineering are working alongside a client based in the mining and quarrying sector who are looking to add an Electronic Design Engineer to their team on as permanent basis.

You will be based in the Banchory area of Aberdeen.


This is a great opportunity to work within a small team, where you can add knowledge and a fresh perspective to develop laser scanning systems and survey equipment.


Salary:
£50K - £70K


Hours:
Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, Friday 8am - 1pm

  • Experience of PCB CAD software, Circuit Simulation and familiar with Matlab
  • FPGA and VHDL development and toolchain (preferably Altera/Intel Microsemi)
  • Analogue and Digital circuit design and use of electronic test equipment
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and a handson attitude to develop products with a focus on quality

Typical Duties -

  • Designing low noise power supplies, low inductance laser diode firing circuits and stable APD receiver circuits
  • Create documentation to support design, manufacture, assembly, test and inspection
  • Develop a range of circuits for motor control angle measurement and vision using a mixture of ARM processors FPGA's and FPGA with embedded ARM Cortex or softcore processor
  • Work within a project team to produce electronic and firmware solutions
  • Contribute towards the continual improvement of the products functionality and manufacturability through effective design
  • Confidently hold meetings with clients and suppliers when required
