Governor Services are looking to recruit a proactive, enthusiastic and diligent person who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role will require the successful applicant to be able to work flexibly within a thriving and busy organisation. Strong IT skills is a must, experience of social media platforms would be desirable.


Making the most of your natural ability to communicate and operate diligently, this multi-aspect role will benefit from your logical and systematic approach, ability to input and use databases efficiently, researching details and securing the commitment of others with excellent written and oral communication skills.


With plenty of opportunities to be proactive, analyse and devise novel solutions, your work is crucial to enable our team to provide a comprehensive traded service to school Trustees, Governors and Clerks.


The role also involves acting as the lead in organising and clerking the statutory School's Forum, this is a large and complex set of board-level meetings that require complex coordination, therefore exceptional organisation skills and advanced minute taking ability is crucial.

You will be the key contact for a wide cohort of internal and external senior colleagues and professionals.


With some financial responsibility and the chance to use your own discretion within our frameworks, there are future opportunities for career development within our department.

Whilst able to work independently, you must enjoy working as part of a busy team and have:


  • A good standard of education, or equivalent vocational experience, with high quality numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of large complex organisations and an advantage would be an understanding of educational governance and governor services
  • Knowledge of current education and educational governance legislation would be desirable, or similar understanding of legislative guidelines in a former role.
  • Proven strong administrative experience, advanced minute taking skills is a must, a high level of IT skills and proven communicative skills to adapt and fulfill requests, dealing with many different cohorts of professionals, elected members, colleagues and partners.
