The role

We're looking for a customer-driven and commercially focussed individual to join our commercial team and provide specialist expertise, build relationships, and do the right thing for our customers and the business.

As "Head of P&S Commercial - Investment" you'll be responsible for ensuring that the investment offerings in P&S support good commercial outcomes for customers and for the P&S business.

The role will also be focussed on collaboration with our commercial workplace, retail and planning sections and taking a wide look at areas in which better commercial outcomes can be achieved.

Our commercial team is focussed on our 4 'C's - Commerciality, collaboration, communication and critical thinking and the role requires these attributes for the core work and interactions that then follow by engaging senior management.

We are also seeking someone who is keen to challenge and be challenged.

The commercial support which the individual will provide will cover a variety of products across the company and working collaboratively and developing excellent relationships with key business areas is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership of all aspects of commercial outcomes arising from investments used by the P&S business products
Providing senior management with clear information on investment costs arising on funds to support product pricing on workplace and retail business channels
Working closely with commercial colleagues to understand decisions being made in each of the trading channels and how that impacts on the wider P&S business
Identifying areas where investment costs could be improved drive better commercial outcomes for customers or the company
Supporting project activity with information on commercial aspects of investments
Conducting regular analysis of broad investments used by P&S to identify and key third parties and the impact P&S flows/revenue has on those third parties
Being the SME on all commercial aspects of investments which can include elements beyond fund management costs such as index costs, fund expenses etc
Being the SME on fund structures and ensuring optimal use of fund structures for the P&S business (e.g. REFL funds, direct/indirect investment, mutual funds)
Analysing complex, technical and numerical problems, providing practical solutions and implementing these, normally within tight timescales.
Training and coaching others in the team on how to approach complex technical and numerical problems and provide practical solutions.
Challenging decisions and proposals and backing this up with logical, reasoned arguments.
