Overview:


As a Draughtsman within our firm, you'll play a pivotal role in the creation and development of detailed drawings and plans.

Your expertise in drafting and design, specifically in software like Advanced Steel or Tekla, will contribute significantly to the construction of intricate and innovative architectural metalwork projects.


Key Responsibilities:


Design Development:

Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to conceptualise and develop designs for architectural metalwork components and structures, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.


Drafting and Detailing:

Produce precise technical drawings, plans, and schematics using industry-standard software such as Advanced Steel or Tekla for fabrication and installation purposes.

Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all drawings to guarantee accuracy in construction.


Material Selection and Specifications:

Work alongside the project team to select appropriate materials for various architectural metalwork elements, considering factors such as durability, aesthetics, and functionality.

Provide detailed material specifications and recommendations.


Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards in all design and drafting activities. Review and revise drawings to meet compliance requirements as necessary.


Collaboration and Communication:

Act as a liaison between the design team, fabrication team, and project stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and information exchange to ensure seamless project progression.


Problem-solving: Identify and resolve design-related challenges or discrepancies during the drafting phase, offering innovative solutions while maintaining project timelines and quality standards.


Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials related to architectural metalwork. Implement best practices and innovative techniques to enhance the efficiency and quality of drafting processes.


Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional training in drafting and design are advantageous.

Experience: Proven experience (5 years) as a Draughtsman or in a similar role within the architectural metalwork industry, showcasing expertise in drafting, detailing, and design, particularly using software like Advanced Steel or Tekla.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of architectural metalwork fabrication techniques, materials, and construction processes. Knowledge of structural design principles is beneficial.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.

Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and accuracy in creating and reviewing technical drawings and specifications.

Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and independently manage workload and priorities.


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
£35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
