  • The departmentThe Creators, Makers and Innovators team is made up of leading advisers for creative, innovative and brandfocused businesses, offering a deep understanding of the industry sectors in which clients operate combined with real expertise across a wide range of legal services. You will form part of the Data & Privacy team, which is an effective and cohesive cross firm, cross industry and cross sector team making up its own independent and autonomous Legal Practice Group within the firm (it sits between Employment, Immigration and Reward and Creators, Makers, Innovators), comprising both contentious and non-contentious lawyers from both divisions.

The Data & Privacy team is made up of three partners, one legal director, 10 associates, one practice development/support lawyer, one specialist privacy analyst, one trainee and one specialist paralegals.

The team is an energetic, informal and sociable group with a very impressive client base, predominantly in the marketing, publishing, gig economy, media, retail, sport and professional services sectors.


  • Responsibilities
    Key objectives


Providing first class support to allocated partners and associates within the Data & Privacy Legal Practice Group, acting as their 'ambassador' both within the firm and externally, being the first point of contact for clients and colleagues.

Producing accurate and timely legal documentation and correspondence as required alongside handling administrative duties on behalf of allocated partners and associates.


Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Excellent client communication skills, dealing with them efficiently and appropriately liaising with them to deal with any queries or issues if able to.
  • Dealing with confidential and private matters on behalf of allocated partners and associates.
  • Ensuring sensitivity and confidentiality when dealing with clients and colleagues when appropriate.
  • Coordinating billing/credit control and accounting matters relating to clients of allocated partners and associates, including reviewing WIP, raising draft pro formas, running small client billing projects and assisting credit control with chasing clients for payment of unpaid bills as required.
  • Dealing with general admin duties as required, printing, copying, organising client meetings/lunches.
  • Assisting with planning/management of seminars and client entertainment.
  • Assisting with travel arrangements either through our travel portal or directly with appropriate travel companies.
  • Maintenance of allocated partner and associates' diaries, liaising with them on a regular basis to discuss forthcoming appointments and any required arrangements.
  • Scheduling internal and external meetings, ensuring that all arrangements are in place and any required materials and documentation are prepared in good time.
  • Answering the telephone in a helpful and professional manner, dealing with queries if able and ensuring messages are taken accurately and dealt with appropriately.
  • Maintaining appropriate efiling systems and ensuring efiling is carried out.
  • Managing fee earners' inbox as required.
  • Proactive approach to ensuring that all administration work is completed on a timely basis, using own initiative to preempt matters.
  • Taking an active part in developing own role and working to provide increasing support for allocated partners and associates ensuring suitable training is undertaken.
  • Assisting with marketing activities including liaising with Marketing team and assisting with the preparation for seminars and other events as required.
