Finance Business Partner (inside IR35)

Finance Business Partner teams are an essential part of the finance directorate and plays an important role in supporting and enabling the ambitious transformation plans of Companies House.
The role offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a wide breadth of work including project activity, contract appraisal and benefit realisation.
As a Finance Business Partner Accountant your main responsibilities would be:
- Creating accurate and robust finance forecasts in collaboration with their business areas
- Building financial capability throughout their areas by instilling a sense of ownership and accountability for financial performance
- Supporting the development of business cases
- Planning & budget setting for areas within own remit
- Providing assurance on the validity and accuracy of the financial position and feeding into financial reporting to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Identify risks and opportunities, taking mitigating actions where required and providing challenge as appropriate.
- Have commercial acumen and be able to operate within a potential environment of ambiguity and uncertainty relating this to such areas as fees and managing public money
- Support the business by building relationships with key stakeholders to challenge and influence decision making through expert analysis and interpretation of strategic goals
- Analyse financial and nonfinancial datasets to gain fresh insights and understand cost drivers
You'll have relevant experience in:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA CCAB or equivalent)
- Supporting projects in a civil service/ agile delivery
- Managing Public Money
- Business cases in line with Green Book and the 5 Case Model
- Ideally with experience in Power BI to develop reports
- DDaT Experience
- Project accounting experience
- Senior stakeholder engagement
- Manging Public Money spend
- Managing budgeting and forecasting
Desirable but not essential criteria:
- Public sector experience
- Experience with Transformation Programmes
- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
