  • What you will be doing
  • To support the Head of Sourcing and Supply Chain and the local and central Almus and Alvita teams with the ongoing management of the Almus and Alvita supply chains for both new and existing products. To work with supplier partners and the wholesale operations teams to identify opportunities to improve both the efficiency and commercial benefits through improved supply chain systems and solutions.
To support with the management of supplier relationships with regards a supply chain perspective.

Working with the local teams to ensure forecasting, ordering and stock management for both pre-wholesale and wholesale are managed efficiently and effectively in order to meet and support the commercial needs of the business.

To ensure that the necessary supply chain processes and systems are in place in all local markets.

To contribute to the team responsible for managing the launch of new products across the two ranges, in accordance with agreed plans.


JOB CONTEXT
Almus is the generic brand of medicines owned by Alliance Healthcare. Almus is marketed in 4 European markets and has approx. 450 products within the range.

Alvita is a range includes over 650 Alvita branded products, including medical devices, cosmetics and biocides and marketed in 7 markets.

These products are supplied by over 80 suppliers.

The Almus and Alvita businesses are supported by the central team, which includes Sourcing and Supply Chain.

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible under the leadership of the Head of Sourcing and Supply Chain to support the management of supply chain in markets, ensuring new products are launched as planned and existing products are maintained on the market to avoid any loss to the business.

The co-ordination by this role is essential particularly where a large proportion of products within both the Almus and Alvita ranges are multi market.


This role will work in partnership with local market colleagues to build up expertise, improve processes and efficiencies to ensure Almus and Alvita products remain in stock and available to the market, without building excessive inventory costs, contributing to the delivery of the Almus and Alvita budgets and 5 year growth plans.


This role requires an individual who can be flexible, deliver at pace, deal with ambiguity and who demonstrates a strong capability for developing productive internal and external cross functional working relationships.


This role will need to develop strong and productive working relationships with key suppliers to facilitate successful maintenance of the Alvita and Almus product ranges.


This role will work collaboratively with colleagues across other key functions within Alliance Healthcare, both within the divisional team and local teams.

This includes brand, commercial, supply chain, quality and regulatory teams


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for working with the local Almus and Alvita teams to ensure efficient systems and processes are in place for the entire planning process for all existing and new products.

Working closely with the Commercial, Regulatory and Sourcing Managers for effective product forecasting to ensure ongoing product availability to avoid any lost sales opportunities, but mitigating against obsolete stock risk.


  • Oversee forecasting, ordering, stock management, and approvals. Work with Alliance Healthcare replenishment teams to ensure effective replenishment with the sole goal of minimising stockouts. Manage central order approvals in line with delegated authorities.
  • Coordinating and managing supply chain elements associated with new product launches (Purchase Order coordination, supplier and product setup).
  • Act as department champion in ensuring adherence to Group policies and procedures for record keeping and contractual compliance, managing Group compliance compliance records; review and maintenance of Supply Agreement Logs and Master Price Lists
  • Develop strong working relationships with supplier partners to optimise the supply of product to the Group ensuring continuity of supply.
  • Ongoing control of central and local processes to ensure effective and efficient stock management and ensure continuous process and service improvement.
  • Working in collaboration with the regulatory colleagues, to be responsible for minimising the requirement to repack existing products and avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Monitor and measure supplier performance/service levels in line with contractual obligations and internal requirements.
  • Support the management of the relationship and contract renewal with the third party service provider, responsible for transporting Almus products from contract manufacturing facilities to the markets.
