Data Leadership

  • To be responsible for the delivery of a full range of data functions including support to SLT, Middle Leaders and staff across the Academy.
  • Oversee and quality assure all data functions. You will like detail and pay close attention to it.
  • Use data analysis, evaluation and reporting systems to maximum effect by ensuring systems are streamlined to maximise efficiency and avoid duplication.
  • Take a lead role in the knowledge, implementation, evaluation and development of the Academy Information Management Systems used within the data team (SIMS and Go4Schools).
  • Establish and use effective methods to review and improve administrative systems.
  • Advise the Academy Manager, Office Manager and senior leaders on the training and induction of staff in using data in school as part of their roles, and deliver appropriate training when required.
  • Be responsible for the provision of high quality data reporting for all Academy events such as parents' Evenings, award evenings, open evenings etc. so that staff can produce these from templates.
  • Take responsibility for the measures and processes in place to safeguard personal information relating to students in accordance with statutory data protection and other requirements.

Data Management and Reporting

  • Set up and manage systems for tracking the progress and outcomes of pupils throughout the school.
  • Ensure that data held on pupils is accurate and complete in relation to assessment and progress, including importing data for new starter at the beginning of the year and for later arrivals midyear.
  • Build new reports from scratch or reuse, repurpose and improve existing spreadsheets used in the school, using your thorough knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Analyse the data held in Go 4 Schools and produce reports on attainment, progress, effort, attendance and behaviour on individual pupils and cohorts of pupils at times set out in the assessment calendar.
  • Manage the production of annual reports and interim reports on the progress of all the pupils in the school
  • Work with the Exams Officer to maintain student records in the GL Assessment platform, upload results from assessments into Go4Schools and disseminate reports to staff as needed.
  • Coordinate and complete statistical government returns and checking exercises.
  • Keep abreast of current guidance and best practice in relation to target setting, the effective use of data and respond to education developments that have implications on data management.

Internal Assessment / Go4Schools

  • Create summary reports of specific information, e.g. ATL (Attitude to Learning) grades to help support analysis of student outcomes. Reports will include behaviour, attendance and academic overviews.
  • Use snapshots to produce summary reports (Progress Indicators) for middle and senior leaders and for reporting back to the Trust.
  • Produce analysis of Mock examinations held by the schools.
  • Manage Go4Schools permissions, ensuring all staff, parents and students have correct access.
  • Provide staff training in the school's use of Go4Schools and support staff in their day to day use of Go4Schools.

Target Setting

  • Ensure records of student "prior attainment" or baseline data are accurate and up to date, using KS2 data from DfE sources and results from GL assessments in school such as CAT4, PTE and PTM.
  • Use centrally created spreadsheets to calculate and import benchmark and target grades for KS4 students.

Timetabling and Curriculum Management

  • In close liaison with the Assistant Principal / curriculum timetabler, coordinate, implement and maintain an accurate and up to date school management information system in relation to timetables, academic structure, teaching groups, rooms, curriculum analysis, staff and pupil timetables.
  • Deal with complex changes and rotations in year and provide timetables for staff and students as required.
  • Support the KS4 options process by creating analysis of student progress in KS3 to enable staff to guide students to appropriate choices based on previous attainment, attitude to learning and other factors.
  • Support the transition of Year 7 students joining the school by collating data from primary schools and interviews with families in order to suggest suitable tutor groups and curriculum pathways.

Timetable Administration

  • Liaise with the time table lead to effectively manage the timetable within the schools management system by providing administrative support in the production, administration and development or the timetable.
  • Work with the time table lead to ensure that the academic and pastoral structure of the timetable are kept uptodate in SIMS throughout the year.
  • Ensure that the school's timetable is accurately updated when required eg assigning rooms or staff to classes.
  • Ensure timetable data in SIMS is accurately synchronised and reflected in Go4Schools.
