Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team on a freelance basis.

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will provide educational support and guidance to students in English & Maths from Entry level though to Level 2.

This post is for approx. 20 hours per month, split over 6 days (Mon, Tues & Weds on a fortnightly basis).

  • Duties:
To ensure efficient and delivery of Functional Skills alongside the Hairdressing Apprenticeship and Study Programme.

  • Ensure that learner progress is tracked and slow progress recognised and addressed.
  • Assess results from initial assessments to identify needs and academic status of learner.
  • Develop English and Maths work appropriate to the needs to the learner within the context of their vocational course.

Requirements:


  • DETS/DTTLS/Cert Ed or PGCE qualifications or working towards.
  • Experience working with young people on apprenticeship provision.
  • Knowledge of various teaching methods and learning styles
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students

£30.00 per hour

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:


  • Teaching: 2 years (preferred)
  • Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
