    Quantity Surveyor Job Title:

    A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a £50m office refurbishment and fit-out project in Central London.

    The Quantity Surveyor will be part of an experienced and driven site-based team, supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the commercial delivery of the project throughout the construction phase.

    The contract value is £50m, involving the demolition of the top floor, construction of two additional floors, and a new roof terrace.

    By retaining a large portion of the existing structure, the project aims to save nearly 5,000 tonnes of CO2 and divert nearly 95% of site waste away from landfill.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Manage all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring budgets are met and risks are mitigated.
    • Oversee subcontractor procurement, tendering processes, and contract negotiations.
    • Prepare accurate cost reports, valuations, and applications for payment.
    • Handle variations, manage change control, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and design consultants to achieve project goals.
    • Provide financial forecasts and ensure all works align with the client's budget and quality expectations.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working on refurbishment and fit-out projects, ideally within the commercial office sector.
    • A strong understanding of JCT Contracts.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
    • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results.
