Description
Provide children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties.

  • Supervise, play with and engage children to ensure their safety and access to learning.
  • Establish good relationships with children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
  • Be aware of and recognise difference, ensuring all children have equal opportunities to learn, develop and make relationships, with particular regard to those with special educational needs.
  • Facilitate children to make relationships with others, engage in activities and develop ageappropriate independence.
  • To actively coregulate behaviour in accordance with the behaviour policy procedures and where necessary to report difficulties to senior staff.
  • To liaise with parents/carers and pass on messages to and from them as directed.
  • To prepare and serve healthy food for children and have knowledge of individual children's needs and dietary requirements (e.g. food allergies) and ensuring that these are met.
  • Carry out ongoing cleaning of the nursery.
  • To set up and deliver the session's activities and to use equipment associated with activities safely and responsibly.
  • Have an understanding of children's individual and development needs and contribute to their records related to care and learning as directed by senior staff.
  • To be aware of signs and symptoms of abuse and know how to record and report any concerns, discussing them with senior practitioners as soon as possible.
  • Provide clerical / admin support if required, e.g. photocopying, filing, reception cover etc.

GENERAL

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Promote the inclusion of all children, families and staff.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos / work / aims of the nursery.
  • Seek to understand and support the role of other professionals.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
£13.30-£13.53 per hour
