General Dynamics Mission Systems UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated
Sourcing and Procurement Assistant to join our inclusive and collaborative team.

This full-time sourcing and procurement role is based in Hastings and comes with an excellent starting salary of up to £29,100 and benefits package.


As an attentive Sourcing and Procurement Assistant, you will mainly support Avionics bids and development activities to support sourcing and pricing for electronic and mechanical components.

You will also work with engineering to identify bill of materials components and compile pricing lists for review and gate submission.

In your first few weeks in this Sourcing and Procurement Assistant role, you can expect to:

  • Support the sourcing and pricing of electrical and mechanical items to provide the best price to the right specification and time scales
  • Build good relationships with suppliers to negotiate costs, terms and delivery schedules
  • Support component availability risks and management plans
  • Assist with long lead procurements for future manufacturing requirements using business case templates and AWAR processes
  • Support to commodity purchasing as needed
  • Purchasing knowledge/experience (preferable but not essential)
  • Good knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • ERP/MRP experience (desirable)
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
