The Digital and Technology Standards Assurance (DTSA) function is recruiting an Assurance Support Officer.
The Standards and Assurance Support Officer sits within our new Digital and Technology Standards and Assurance (DTSA) team which is responsible for ensuring all Defra's Digital and Technology spend and developments meet the Government Digital Standards - these are to help implement good quality digital services that people will want to use.
The Support Office role is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of requests from across Defra, maintaining accurate records to ensure the effective and timely exchange of requests, responses and approvals.
This includes requests for spend against new projects, service improvements and contract extensions as well as requests for service assessments and general enquiries.
The role is key in supporting the Spend Control Process and coordination of Service Assessments. The role may also include assisting in developing reports and supporting meetings.Person specification
Responsibilities
- Manage communications between the requesters and DTSA for spend control approvals and service assessment requests.
- Set up, compile and distribute work requests, using SharePoint to provide a clear audit trail for each work request.
- Accurately update and maintain the Spend Control database and Service Assessment planner.
- Coordinate outputs from governance meetings.
- Issue spend approval confirmations to enable delivery of the work.
- Provide coaching and guidance to customers on the processes, procedures and tools such as templates, points of contact, next steps.
- Attend and participate in weekly check point audios with team colleagues and stakeholders.
- Assist with production of ad hoc reports.
- Support other team members and cross team working to deliver an excellent service to our customers.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to use own initiative.
- Organisation and planning skills, working to the outcomes required, prioritising as relevant.
- Analytical skills to manage large datasets with multiple contacts within short, tight timescales using a variety of tools including SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Communication skills (questioning listening, reflecting) to coach others and build relationships.
- Working in a Project, Programme of Portfolio Office environment, with a focus on delivering Digital services.
- Ability to cope with changing priorities and processes.

£25,915.00-£30,402.00 per year
