Thornton's Bakery is a local family run bakery, located in Rotherham town centre. We've been in business for over 75 years and have a fun and hard-working team. We bake and supply bread to over 250 cafes, restaurants and shops throughout Rotherham, Sheffield and Barnsley.

We are looking for a driver who is able to work two, 4 hour shifts per week. Every Monday & alternate Tuesday and Saturday, starting at 6am to do our Sheffield route.

In addition we need the position to cover holidays and staff absence (this could be up to 40 hours per week with a start time of 2-3am depending on the route covering) We currently require holiday cover for 5 drivers who work 3-6 days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
• Load and unload goods from the vehicle safely
• Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including cash collection and deposit
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• Experience as a delivery driver is an advantage
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation of deliveries
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of loading and unloading goods
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
