Senior Chemical Process Engineer Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join our team in West Berkshire on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 7-10 years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

The Senior Chemical Process Engineer will lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes, solving problems and improving engineering processes. Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects, overseeing the implementation of process improvements, and managing junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes
Solving problems and improving engineering processes
Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects
Overseeing the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including R&D, production, and quality assurance
Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

At least 7-10 years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of/experienced with thermal processes
A degree (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or a related field
Strong Project Management skills
Strong knowledge of process design, scale-up, and optimization
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD)
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., COMAH, HSE)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent leadership skills, and ideally some people management experience
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team

What We Offer:

Salary: £70,000-£90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
