An excellent full time opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic Associate Sleep Practitioner to join our busy, well-equipped department at the Wye Valley NHS Trust Hospital in Hereford.


Associate Sleep Practitioner works under the general supervision of the Chief Sleep Physiologist for the Wye Valley Sleep service to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep and ventilation disorders including outpatient sleep studies, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.

Wye Valley trust has over 2000 patients on either CPAP or Ventilation.

You should ideally hold Association for Respiratory Technology & Physiology (ARTP) certificates in Oximetry and CPAP.

  • Set up, download and provide a technical report regarding overnight oximetry sleep studies.
  • Set up and download cardio respiratory polygraphy sleep study.
  • Take ownership of the CPAP spares and repairs clinical workload to facilitate and support patients using therapy. Address any patient concerns and clinical queries involving with their CPAP treatment including adjustments to treatment interface, therapy comfort adjustments, and general sleep advice regarding compliance and sleep hygiene. Escalate any complex information or requests to senior clinical staff.
  • Take ownership of stock control of the WVT Sleep service storage cupboard including ordering supplies on Integra and liaising with Industry representatives.
  • Identify equipment faults and problem solving appropriate to level of expertise.
  • Assist in the day to day running of the department with any queries that may arise
