BMI UK&I have a permanent opportunity for a Transport Planning Team Lead to join.

Reporting to the Logistics & Warehousing Manager, this role is based in Milton Keynes (MK11 3LW).


Role Summary

As the Transport Planning Team Lead your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead a team consisting of an Analyst & Coordinator
  • Coordinate planning customers orders deliveries with a focus on resource optimisation
  • Monitor and own business systems and processes related to transport resource planning
  • Monitor and adhere to company and legal compliance
  • Liaise with 3PL/4PL service providers and operational team on any and all amendments and optimisation requirements
  • Provide live updates to customer services and Senior management on relevant performance KPIs
  • Source adhoc transport services within the boundaries of internal requirements
  • Manage resource levels within the distribution operation
  • Ensure all deliveries are planned and executed within SLA and to all customers standards
  • Engage in function specific projects and actions
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner to relevant senior staff
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and stored to company standard
  • Coordinate import/export activities and service providers as relevant to business requirement
  • Deputise in the absence of Logistics & Warehousing Manager as and when required
