Description
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Tertiary Neonatology at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital in Cardiff. This post is available from March 2024 for 6 months, but may be extendable up to a maximum of 24 months

The Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board offers a full range of regional specialties for children in Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain Neonatal experience at a world-class Children's hospital, with a wealth of training and education opportunities available to successful applicants.

The NICU at the UHW site provides specialised tertiary neonatal services for the whole population of South Wales with a small number of referrals from England.

Whilst these are not accredited training posts, they attract the same training opportunities, including study leave, a named educational supervisor, and a very active educational program equal to that received by deanery trainees.

This job is a full-time, full shift pattern 1:8 rota. It includes duties in the evenings, at night, and at weekends.

The rota is shared with Paediatric and Neonatal trainees (ST4-ST8) from Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), with equal opportunities for study leave, educational activities and quality improvement projects.

The 8-week rolling rota includes an opportunity to gain experience in each area of the neonatal ward, including ITU, HDU, Nursery, and post-natal ward.

There is a spread of out-of-hours shifts including evenings (one week in total), weekends (3 weekends in 8 in total) and nights (one week in total in two separate batches).

Annual leave is flexible and the postholder is encouraged to organise leave with other colleagues maintaining prospective cover.

A full job description is attached with the main duties of the job
