The Role of the laundry Assistant


Based at the Training Ground, the key duties of this role include washing and preparing 1st and B team kits and ensuring that they are ready for training sessions and matches, as well as ensuring that at all times laundry standards are maintained to a high level and that kits are presented in-line with Club standards.


Main Accountabilities

  • To launder the training kits for 1st team & B team players and staff who work daily at the training ground.
  • 1st team match. (
    After each game)
  • B team match kits
    (after each game)
  • Match kit for Women's 1st & B team
    (after each game)
  • Kitchen staff uniforms.
  • Medical towels for 1st & B team.
  • U18 Players & staff match & training kit
    (summer 2023)
  • Match kits for U916 (
    summer 2023)
  • To ensure that all laundry standards are maintained at a high level.
  • To ensure all Kit is presented in line with Club standards.
  • To ensure that all equipment and machines are well maintained, and any damage or faults are reported.
  • To adhere to Health & Safety Regulations in line with the Club's Health and safety Policy.
  • To undertake such other duties, appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all dealings.

General Club Accountabilities

  • To comply with all Club policies, including health and safety, data regulations and other legal, ethical and social requirements.
  • To build and maintain good working relationships while maintaining a professional image.
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel.

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics

  • Previous experience in a similar laundry role.
  • Able to demonstrate honesty, integrity, reliability and the ability to ensure confidentiality at all time.
  • Able to adapt to different working times when required dependent on football schedule.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to members of staff at all levels.
  • Friendly, well organised with the ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.

Person Specification - Desirable Characteristics

  • Experience of working within professional football or similar sensitive working environment.
  • Experience of working with high volumes of laundry.
  • Experience of using commercial washing machines and laundry equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of the safe use of washing detergents and other related chemicals.
