About the role - Youth Mentor -Barking and Dagenham


As a Youth Mentor, this is an excellent opportunity to gain more experience in the school setting so that you can gain more hands-on experience.

There will be a role for you in a secondary school, where you will be supporting children with challenging behaviours.

In addition to overseeing their academic needs, you will also be responsible for their behaviour issues.

As a Youth Mentor, you need to be approachable since you will be the student's point of contact or someone they feel comfortable talking to when they have concerns.

Youth Mentors are responsible for role modelling a positive and encouraging way of life for the students who will look up to them as role models.

The role of a youth mentor is to help youth arrange educational programs, youth recreational activities such as sports, arts and drama, as well as to assess their health, social and emotional needs.

It is your responsibility to plan, manage, and run community events as well as social events for those struggling with social life, health problems, and anti-social behaviour.
