The Learning Support Assistant will provide one to one support to children to help them develop their education.

The day-to-day responsibilities for a Learning Support Assistant include:

• Motivating pupils to achieve beyond their potential
• Supporting children with their education, behavioural and social development
• Encouraging children to communicate, to increase their confidence in their own abilities
• Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
• Assisting Teachers to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials
• Work with the school team, helping children to learn

Skills and experiences:

• Understanding of special educational needs
• Empathy, knowledge on how to provide a nurturing learning environment
• Calm, motivational, ethical
• Previous experience working or volunteering with children with special educational needs

Hours of work:

Full-time Monday to Friday

Monday 8.30am - 4pm

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8.30am

• 4.30pm

Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm early finish

It is essential to have GCSE grades C or equivalent in Maths and English.
We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. All staff will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and references.
