We are looking for a Information Governance Support Co-Ordinator to join our East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in information governance.

You will be working as part of a small team supporting the Data Protection Lead to deliver the information governance strategy for the Trust.

This role will also involve supporting the Head of information governance with the service provided to West Suffolk Hospital.


The role will be predominately based at our Ipswich site with a combination of being on site and home working.

You may also be required to work across other ESNEFT sites as and when required.

  • Undertake administrative tasks and projects associated with the continued compliance of the Data Protection Act 2018/General Data Protection Regulation on behalf of organisation
  • Support departments with their Information Governance (IG) compliance and raise the profile of IG throughout the Trust and to its service users across both sites
  • Maintain and update IG database
  • Support the IG team to submit evidence for the Trust's annual Data Security & protection Toolkit submission

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current Information Governance (IG) legislation and standards including, but not limited to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), Data Protection Act 2018 and the National Data Guardian review
  • Work with other Departments to Maintain the Trust's information asset register by through appraisal of existing data flow
  • Undertake reviews of departmental consent processes to ensure they comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation
  • Deliver where necessary IG training awareness sessions and attending meeting briefings with the IG Tea
  • Support departments to undertake Data Protection Impact Assessments and provide these for approval to the Trust's Data Protection Office
  • Prepare awareness materials for patients including but not limited to the Trust website, leaflets, Posters etc
  • Assist the IG team with the IG spot check audit process as require
  • Provide administrative support where necessary to the Information Governance and Records Group meetings, taking minutes, preparing the agenda and associated paper
  • Produce regular statistical reports on IG related matters including training compliance, asset register entries and tracking progress of the implementation plan
  • Provide support to the IG Administrative Assistant to ensure the Trust meets its requirements in terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
