  • DIR2304The Information Governance Officer is a key member of the University's Legal and Governance Team and leads on embedding and monitoring compliance with data protection principles across the University.


Reporting to the University Secretary, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the University's compliance with data protection and Freedom of Information legislation including training and advice to colleagues from across the University and managing requests made under data protection and Freedom of Information Act legislation.

You will provide support for internal reviews and responses to regulatory bodies, ensuring that our processes and procedures remain fit for purpose and that the University meets it statutory responsibilities.

This work will be supported by the Administrative Assistant:
Legal & Governance for whom you will be the line manager.


You will be a qualified or experienced information governance professional, with a good knowledge of legislation relating to information management and experience of managing organisational compliance matters.

From 1 August 2023, the salary range for this role will increase to £37,100 - £41,732, with the opportunity to progress to £45,585.
