Description

The Assembly Planner (AP) assumes the responsibility for implementing manual processes and special tools, fixtures and equipment (SBMs / TFEs) in the production plant required by any product/process changes during SBWE, running changes or base launches.

The AP is responsible for the procurement and proof of ability (BLUM) for functionally and FMK-relevant SBMs as well as being responsible for sourcing all non FMK relevant SBMs required within their area of responsibility.


The AP is also responsible for risk management (COPS) at his/her plant after the evaluation of the risk filters (RiFI) including the definition of measures.


The AP is responsible for planning the finances (Product Invest, Structure Invest, and Budget) needed for the completion of the processes and their planning.


The AP is authorized to implement the core tasks described and is responsible for achieving the goals and results of his /her area of responsibility.


Other areas of responsibility:

  • Execution of the proof of manufacturability (Process BI).
  • Supports the conception of SBMs (TFE)s
  • Introducing essential topics into the specialist Fachteam
  • Introduction of Fachteam relevant topics into the plant)
  • Regular coordination with relevant interface partners in the plant (Assembly PSP's, production, finance, purchasing)
  • Regular coordination of external partners (Facility manufacturers, tooling suppliers etc)
  • Creation of TD-TVGs (TVGs e.g. for construction deviations).
  • Enhances the plant specific assembly processes in the Combi-TVGs
  • Implementation of processes for machine and variant control and associate information systems (PUSY (CAS) / MOSIS / SAP / BVIS).
  • Processing of plant specific PQM points (including announcements)
  • Coordination of hardware requirements (SBM's and equipment) planning with plant and project.
  • Processing of the SBWE steering lists.
  • Processing of the evaluation orders in cooperation with the MoKo / concept planner / plant / QPP.
  • Carrying out RIFI; for communal issues
  • Processing and implementation of all incoming changes (controlled via the change coordination of the location) and time slice measures at the location.
Manufacturing experience of greater than 5 years is desired (Automotive manufacturing would be preferred but is not essential)

Prior use of BMW systems for Assembly Planning is desired (but on the job training will be provided for those without this knowledge)


The BMW specific system qualifications will be carried out within the framework of the TP-4 competence management (Introduction program, training needs analysis (BBA), Qualification measures).
