This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry.

You will join the department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences where our educational activities include delivery of undergraduate degrees in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Science, and Postgraduate courses in Pharmaceutical, Analytical and Forensic Toxicology areas.

You will work closely with the Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Science and Bioscience course leaders to develop and deliver inclusive teaching and assessment to Level 3 through Level 7 programmes.

We would like the individual to contribute to topic areas in Pharmacology, Physiology, Immunology and Toxicology.

We would welcome industry knowledge that enables the theme of bench-to-bedside practices to be embedded in curriculum design and equipping students with real-world skills.

You will contribute to the personal tutor scheme, offering pastoral support to students and helping them develop their academic and professional skills, as well as contribute to Kingston University's vision to remain firmly at the forefront of embedding future skills in the curriculum to prepare graduates for career success.

The Person:

We are seeking a Pharmacologist with cross-disciplinary interests contributing to teaching across Levels 3 to 7 programmes.

You will hold a doctorate in the field of or related to Pharmacology and have knowledge of basic Physiology or an equivalent professional qualification.

Basic knowledge of immunology and toxicology would also be advantageous. Relevant industry experience is welcomed and will be considered for the Senior Lecturer role. On a personal level, to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be your core motivation. We also welcome contributions to research in pharmacology or pedagogy for the life sciences.

You will use your teaching or research experience to promote practical knowledge to students that they will take with them in their future studies and career.

Constantly seeking to improve, you will scrutinise your own work and work collaboratively to enhance the Faculty and School's reputation in higher education and occupational circles.

Students at Kingston University come from a broad range of backgrounds and educational experiences and the person undertaking this position will play a key role in allowing such students to realise their potential.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research.

By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained).

For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.
