Willis Towers Watson (WTW) is recruiting for an Associate Director position in our market-leading Integrated and Global Solutions (IGS) Practice based in London, United Kingdom.

Multinational companies face a variety of business, cultural, language and regulatory environments. We help companies to navigate these challenges in relation to pensions, benefits and employment structures.

We advise multinational companies on certain specialist topics where the IGS has unique experience, and we also act as a single point of contact to help solve client questions where we draw on the expertise of all our colleagues from around the world.


This role will entail developing relationships with, and providing strategic advice and consulting to, our Global Actuarial and M&A clients.

The main focus of the role will be the strategic delivery of Global actuarial projects (approximately 75% of role) and M&A and any other consulting services to the headquarters.

Specifically, in this role you would be expected to perform some or all of the following activities:


  • Be the face to corporate HR and Finance within multinational companies for global pensions and benefits strategy.
  • Oversee and lead the coordination and project management of multicountry projects such as pensions accounting consolidations, global benefits benchmarking exercises, derisking opportunities, cost savings projects, data analytics and governance processes.
  • Help multinational clients with all M&Arelated people issues (including Talent, Reward and Benefits) during due diligence or integration phases of a merger, acquisition, divestiture, carve out, joint venture or other corporate transaction. Also to deliver postmerger integration advice on people matters around the world, including benefit design, provider selection and benefit delivery, communications and change management.
  • Lead diverse client teams to deliver advice to the headquarters of our multinational clients on employee benefit matters around the world. Such areas of advice could include global retirement management, benefit design, local compliance, local and global governance process, provider selection and benefit delivery, global benefit financing and risk management structures.
  • Work closely with the global Lead Relationship Managers and local colleagues to protect and grow client revenue.
  • Support the use of WTW technology to help clients to maximize the value from the information collected.
  • Lead on intellectual capital development and new business generation.
  • Qualified actuary, with experience working with clients on global benefits matters
  • Experience in building relationships with and selling work to large organisations at the headquarters and local country level across a range of international benefits topic areas.
  • An ability to engage in a consulting relationship with clients at the headquarters and local country level.
  • The ability to deal positively with change and ambiguity.
  • Comfort in working in a global environment. Understand the nuances of working across borders, with different cultures and with multinational organizations.
  • Selfmotivation and the ability to effectively lead and work in teams, including remotely with clients and colleagues in other countries.
  • Ability to build a network with client contacts and WTW colleagues around the world.
  • A positive and friendly approach to work.
  • A keen desire to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and good organisational abilities.
  • An aptitude for managing multiple stakeholder groups.
