    Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant:

Solihull
We are recruiting a Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant in Solihull for a successful, large multi-disciplinary consultancy.


As a member of our client's Land Quality North Team within the Geo-Environmental Advisory Business Unit you will be required to undertake predominantly office-based work supporting UK-wide delivery of brownfield regeneration schemes for a range of public and private sector clients.


The successful applicant

  • Developing new business opportunities and enhancing existing, internal and external client relationships.
  • Take a lead role in the delivery of contaminated land and remediation projects from inception to completion including proposals/bids.
  • Be capable of providing/ delivering core knowledge with respect to Health and Safety on project(s) with specific reference to Risk Assessments and CDM
  • Appointing and managing subcontractors including RAMS review.
  • Project management (technical and commercial) of projects ranging from medium sized/risk to large schemes including overseeing junior staff, checking and approving work.
  • Designing, implementing and managing geoenvironmental site investigations and remediations.
  • Visiting site for surveying and walkover inspections, Liaison and chairing of client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide technical and mentoring support to less experienced team members.
  • Provide support to other offices as and when required, in support and development of geoenvironmental work.
  • Manage the timely and accurate flow of communication between you, your team and your clients.
  • Undertaking the design, preparation of contract documentation and management of geoenvironmental investigation and remediation schemes from inception through to completion and gaining approvals from statutory bodies.
  • Preparing and reviewing desk study, ground investigation, human health and water environment risk assessments and validation reports.
  • Working closely within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Developing and enhancing existing skills in geoenvironmental assessments.
  • Preparing well written clear, accurate and well presented reports and specifications.

Background

  • An MSc in a relevant field (preferable but not essential)
  • Chartership or recognised accreditation through a relevant professional body (CGeol, CEng)
  • Significant background in geoenvironmental field with a demonstrable ability in ground engineering, contaminated land assessments.
  • A good track record of successful project delivery, with a client focused attitude
  • Excellent IT skills with advanced skills in MS Office.
  • Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
  • Full clean driving licence.
