The Opportunity:


This is new and exciting opportunity to join a School which is committed to expanding, enhancing and supporting its learning and teaching to deliver the highest standards.


As a member of the school's integrated Web, Systems and Learning Technology team you will be responsible for the creation and support of innovative digital synchronous and asynchronous teaching content and methodology.

You will carry out this work in partnership with academic and technical colleagues, informed by your experience in delivering high quality pedagogic and practical advice and guidance.


The primary role of this post is to support the team to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning and teaching technologies through the management and creation of high quality interactive digital content and services on a variety of platforms, including the University's VLE software (Blackboard Learn).


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant experience of the uses and capabilities of online technologies for teaching and learning
OR

  • Experience of the uses and capabilities of online technologies for teaching and learning, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding work/roles
OR

  • Proven experience in supporting users to make the most of the capabilities of the Learn VLE or similar, and in the use of technology enhanced learning tools, such as blogs, wikis, and collaboration tools, within a pedagogical framework.
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate with a diverse audience, with a wide range of technical expertise.
  • Ability to identify, prioritise, plan and manage work independently without direct supervision, and flexibility to accommodate peaks and ad hoc changes in workload
  • Ability to quickly learn to use new tools and interfaces effectively and to liaise effectively with IT professional and administrative staff to secure enhancements.
  • Experience of media creation and editing using packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro or other advanced photo, audio and video editing software.
  • Experience of website development using an enterprise content management system and or Microsoft SharePoint
