Description

To copy-edit, proofread and screen check the technical content for all NBS products, ensuring that it is written in accordance with company guidelines.

Maintaining consistent and accurate style, spelling, grammar and punctuation, within the deadlines of the production schedules. Supporting the wider business as required.

What you will get up to day to day

  • To copyedit, proofread and screen check technical content, checking format/ style, spelling, punctuation and grammar at relevant stages of the authoring and production processes.
  • To check cross references to thirdparty standards and guidance documents.
  • To copyedit marketing and website material and industry reports.
  • To update the images register and associated metadata, including checking permissions to publish thirdparty images.

We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following

  • Attention to detail, thorough and meticulous.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language and grammar.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Methodical and organized approach to work.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Some of the key responsibilities

  • To assist in the testing and development of bespoke products and tools.
  • To offer guidance, grammatical advice and support to the wider business.
  • Maintain Keyword database.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the House style guide section of the Technical Content Authoring Manual.
  • To work towards attaining, improving or maintaining membership of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

  • Effectively manage the daytoday performance of the functions, ensuring the team supports Group business in a responsive and agile manner, whilst delivering strategic initiatives
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to remove any single points of failure, boost responsiveness and ensure dissemination of knowledge
  • Drive process and system simplification in line with best practice to develop a robust system platform benchmarked against industry standards
