The Yard is a leading Scottish charity working with children and young people aged 0-25 with additional support needs, and their families, through adventure play sessions in Edinburgh, Dundee and Kirkcaldy.

The Yard offers creative and inclusive play experiences in a well-supported environment, alongside wraparound support for the whole family. They provide a varied programme including youth clubs, respite, early years, schools and family play sessions. The Yard believe in fostering communities of friendship and peer support without judgement.


Overview:


Main responsibilities:

There are 3 main elements to this role; Operational, HR and Finance Administration.


Operational administration:

  • Maintenance of membership database.
  • Operational support such as designing posters on office packages, supplies processing.
  • Health and Safety checks and reporting.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain and update training records.
  • Support training workshop administration.
  • Maintain sickness records and prepare a monthly report for payroll.
  • Recruitment administration.

Finance Administration:

  • Financial filing and recordkeeping.
  • Basic use of QuickBooks, an online accounting system.
  • Raising invoices.
  • First line financial reconciliation.

What we are looking for:


  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Personal Integrity.
  • Able to engage with a wide variety of people in person and on the phone.
  • Experience of team working.
  • IT literate, use of Microsoft packages desirable (although full training will be provided).
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Group scheme check (will be carried out by The Yard).
