What you'll be doing

  • You'll be accountable for managing a designated CFU/CU client relationship and providing HR support for the more complex and high-risk people policies within our framework.

  • You'll manage multi-stakeholder relationships and leverage a combination of anecdotal and data-based insights to identify trends, define creative solutions to business problems, and simplify processes.
  • You'll interface with CFUs, CUs, the ER CoE, Reward CoE, LLT CoE, HS&W CoE, and BT Legal.
  • You'll leverage your influence to cultivate strong, reciprocal relationships with your clients, energizing them and inspiring them to achieve our ambitions.
  • You'll play a key role and contribute to ER implications in any complex case or local programs, ensuring impact assessments on employee experience and ET risk.
  • You'll maintain your knowledge and expertise to guide people managers in a changing environment, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with employment law and ET case findings by maintaining strong relationships with BT Legal.

Skills and experience

  • Essential experience in Employee Relations or case management, preferably within a unionised environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting grievance cases, with a particular focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels, from colleagues to Managing Directors.
  • A skilled problem solver with the ability to swiftly comprehend and assess complex scenarios, offering management viable options while communicating associated risks.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management, capable of understanding the diverse needs of multiple stakeholders and collaboratively working with them to support their business goals while aligning with our strategic direction.
  • Comfortable working with data, adept at collecting and presenting key datasets to share insights within the business using Excel and PowerPoint.
